OVERVIEW AND PHILOSOPHY
OVERVIEW AND PHILOSOPHY
- Choosing a dayplanner is like playing rock, paper, scissors. No matter what dayplanner you choose, it won't be perfect.
- "The Line" - the genius and variations of Cornell Notes format for note-taking.
- Notebooks of famous people. Stand on the shoulders of giants.
- The Joy of Post-its. Ubiquitous, cheap, and (re)useful. Part of my "everyday carry."
- Paper beats laptop for learning. You won't just look more knowledgeable with a paper notebook, you'll (probably) actually be more knowledgeable. If you do it right.
VARIOUS OTHER LISTS
- Vendors of paper notebooks.
- Vendors of binders and organizers.
- Some of my notebook hacks.
- Pen & Paper shops (both virtual and real).
OTHER STUFF
- Organizing multiple errand/shopping lists with post-its.
- Chronodex is a fascinating innovation. Instead of a linear, top-to-bottom list of appointments and events, Chronodex presents your day as a spiral, and each time block is represented by a wedge. This is possibly the greatest innovation in visualization of one's dated tasks since the agenda itself. This page provides access to a Do1P, undated format that includes some features of GTD as well.
- Clip-rite Clip-tabs are an interesting variation on a theme: coloured tabs attached to paper-clips. The idea being you can now have movable tabs in your notebook.
- Fountain pen 101. A great series of videos if you want to learn about fountain pens.
