Special Issue of Bioinspired, Biomimetic, and Nanobiomaterials: The concept of Biomimetics: Teaching and practice for effective knowledge transfer (Mar 2016)

Website: http://www.icevirtuallibrary.com/toc/jbibn/current
Deadline for submissions: 30 March 2016

BBN is a transdisciplinary journal with ICE Publishing. First published in 2012, it has a growing readership and citation index (2015 impact factor: 0.978) and is highly visible through all major search engines. There are no submission fees or page charges.

The theme of this issue will be “The concept of Biomimetics: Teaching and practice for effective knowledge transfer."

The potential of biomimetics is considered to be boundless and its scientific, societal, economic, and sustainable impacts to be significant. Therefore, biomimetics may become a well-known and broadly accepted concept which could be implemented successfully along the whole value chain of innovation. For the strategy and development of biomimetic designs, the knowledge transfer within the process of innovation needs to be effective.

This special edition of BBN shall encompass the wide scope of biomimetics in the context of knowledge transfer in order to broaden the perspective by addressing new and informative topics for consideration.

Submitted manuscripts are welcome on a variety of related topics including:

  • reviews/perspectives on design and biomimetics
  • teaching and education in biomimetics, and knowledge translation and transfer
  • biomimetic practice and process
  • the outcomes of biomimetic process including sustainability
  • ethical considerations of biomimetic practice.

This special edition of BBN shall encompass the wide scope of biomimetics in the context of knowledge transfer in order to broaden the perspective by addressing new and informative topics for consideration.

Submissions for consideration will be accepted until March 30, 2016. All manuscripts will be peer reviewed and submission is not a guarantee of publication.

We would be happy to discuss your manuscript idea in advance of submission to ensure suitability for this special edition.  Refer to the website for the editors' contact information.
